Have you ever wondered how many calories you are burning when you exercise or during your daily activities? Let’s solve the mystery! Here is a look at the number of calories typically burned by several common activities:

  • 1 mile walk – 100 calories
  • 30 minute run – 200-500 calories
  • 1 hour of swimming – 300-600 calories
  • Walking up a flight of stairs – 2.5-5 calories
  • 15 minutes of jump rope – 200-300 calories
  • Vacuuming for 30 minutes – 100-150 calories
  • 1 hour of dancing – 300-800 calories
  • Washing the car for 30 minutes – 125-200 calories
  • Washing dishes for 30 minutes – 175-300 calories
  • 1 hour of cycling – 450-750 calories
  • 30 minutes of weight lifting – 100-250 calories
  • 30 minutes of yoga – 150-300 calories

As you can see, the ranges vary depending on the size of the person, the intensity of the activity, and the duration of the activity. The important thing is to keep active and keep moving!
