Chronic back pain is a common and debilitating condition that can severely limit your quality of life. In 2022, 28% of U.S. adults reported having chronic low back or sciatic pain. Traditional surgical treatments are highly invasive, permanently alter the spine, involve long recovery times, and often fail to provide lasting relief. In contrast, stem cell therapy is a non-surgical, minimally invasive option that has shown remarkable results. Best of all, because it doesn’t damage the spine, the procedure can be safely repeated if necessary.

What’s Happening in the Spine?

Chronic back pain can often be caused by Degenerative Disc Disease, a condition in which a disc between vertebrae becomes damaged and begins leaking the gel-like substance in it’s center. This leads to a narrowing of the nerve pathways, resulting in chronic pain.

How Can This Be Helped?

Using Dr. Richard Kim’s innovative approach, bone marrow and blood are drawn from the patient during a brief procedure. These samples are then processed to isolate stem cells and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The concentrated cells and plasma are injected directly into the affected area of the spine.

Once there, the stem cells work to repair damaged tissue and help preserve the gel-like center of the disc, preventing further degeneration.

This is a one-day, in-office procedure, and patients are able to walk out on their own afterward.
